I am having trouble separating Deep Winter from Deep Summer because the obvious signs do not all point in one direction. I have naturally deep hair and defined brows but my eyes are lighter and slightly muted rather than bright. I can wear black, although it sometimes overwhelms me while charcoal and deep navy are easier. Muted blue is harmonious but can drain my complexion so softness alone has not settled the question. I started with a deep winter color palette and selected comparable summer shades rather than judging unrelated colors. At the moment icy pink beats dusty mauve but cobalt is much stronger on me than smoky blue. I tested all drapes makeup-free beside the same window and kept the camera exposure fixed. Could depth be my dominant feature without making me a Winter or do the clearer colors carry more weight than eye softness? What comparison would you consider most decisive before spending money on a professional consultation?
